​Municipality of the Year Portugal 2016

Award Cerimony of the Municipality of the Year Awards Portugal 2016, at Forte do Beliche, in Sagres, Vila do Bispo, with the special performance of the singer Luís Represas.
The "Municipality of the Year Portugal 2015" Awards were submitted to 93 applications. The national jury, after a thorough evaluation process, nominated 36 municipalities for the categories in the competition.
Fundão was the great national winner. Santarém (Alentejo), Loulé (Algarve), Lisbon (M.A. Lisbon), Arouca (M.A. Porto), Fundão (Centre), Vila Nova Famalicão (North) and Praia da Vitória (Autonomous Regions) were the regional winners. In the municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants Alfândega da Fé (North) and Batalha (Centre) triumphed​.

The municipality of Vila do Bispo, in the Algarve, was the national winner of the "Municipality of the Year Portugal 2015" award. On May 24, 2016, at 2:30 p.m., he presented the seminar "R & D Projects of Vila do Bispo", at UM-Cities, on the campus of Gualtar, in Braga, informing investigations in areas as diverse as History, Archaeology, Underwater Archaeology, Biology, Geology or Palaeontology​​​​.

Award Ceremony of the Municipality of the Year Awards Portugal 2015, at the Teatro Circo, in Braga, with the presence of the Secretary of State for Regional Development and with the special performance of singer Berg.
The "Municipality of the Year Portugal 2015" Awards were submitted to 81 applications. The national jury nominated 36 municipalities for the categories in the competition.
Vila do Bispo was the great national winner. Braga (North), Santa Maria da Feira (M.A. Porto), Águeda (Centre), Coruche (Alentejo), Ribeira Grande (Autonomous Regions) and Sintra (M.A. Lisbon) were the regional winners. ​ In the municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants Paredes de Coura (North) and Lousã (Centre) triumphed.

Award Ceremony of the Municipality of the Year Awards Portugal 2014, at the Centro Cultural Vila Flor, Guimarães, attended by the Secretary of State for Regional Development Manuel Castro Almeida.
The "Municipality of the Year Portugal 2015" Awards were submitted to 66 applications. Lisbon was the great national winner. Guimarães (North), Fundão (Centre), Odemira (Alentejo), Tavira (Algarve), Funchal (Autonomous Regions) and Lisbon (M.A. Lisbon) were the regional winners. In municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants Vinhais (North), Idanha-a-Nova (Centre) and Estremoz (Alentejo) triumphed.
Before the Ceremony was paid a tribute to the late Prof. Manuel Costa Lobo, one of the most important national urbanists.​
